Cleaning the grinder - How & How often?

1. Why is cleaning the grinder important?
Dirt and deposits in the grinder reduce the amount of freshly ground coffee, resulting in weak coffee .
Coffee residues in the grinder can become rancid or bitter over time, which negatively affects the taste.
Moisture in the grinder can cause old coffee residues to become moldy and cause hygiene and health problems.
A dirty grinder has to work harder, which increases wear and shortens the life of the machine.
Hardened deposits can block the grinder so that no new beans can be drawn in.

2. How often should you clean the grinder?
Manual cleaning should be done after approximately 5000 uses or every 2-3 years.
Cleaning with Grinder cleaner should be done annually.

There are some grinder cleaners for fully automatic machines available on Amazon.
We haven't tried this yet, but the reviews aren't bad and it seems to work on light soiling.

5. Disassembly and cleaning by a specialist workshop
If your grinder is already very dirty or you would like a thorough cleaning, please contact us. After cleaning, we will readjust the grinder. We also recommend changing the grinding stones (grinding cone and grinding ring) after about 5000-8000 extractions.
6. What mistakes should you avoid?
Do not use home remedies!
Under no circumstances should you use liquids, otherwise the grinder will start to rust and, in the worst case, the machine will suffer total damage.
7. What are the benefits of regular maintenance of the grinder?
The grinder does not get clogged so quickly with coffee grounds and coffee residues
